Things Your Cat is Thankful For

Thanksgiving is on the way! While it’s always great to enjoy some delicious, seasonal food with our loved ones, it’s also important to remember the true meaning of the holiday: gratitude. What about your cat? If Fluffy could make a list of things she appreciates, what do you think would be on it? A Los Gatos, CA vet offers some suggestions below.

Sunbeams

Our feline friends do not actually run on solar power. However, you wouldn’t know that by observing them. Fluffy can’t resist taking a nap in a warm beam of sunlight!

Boxes

We’re not entirely sure why cats are so obsessed with boxes. Fluffy has been known to ignore soft, comfy pet beds and sleep in a shoebox instead. It’s probably safe to say that if you put an empty box down on the floor, your feline buddy will waste no time hopping into it.

Warm Laps

Kitties just happen to be the perfect size to fit onto our laps. It’s always great to relax at night with a good book or movie and a purring furball!

Windows

Cats are really much better off living indoors, where they are protected from cars, weather, predators, and other hazards. However, Fluffy will definitely appreciate having a good window seat, where she can look outside and watch birds and squirrels.

Veterinary Care

We know, Fluffy isn’t exactly fond of visiting us. However, even though she doesn’t understand or appreciate her appointments, she’ll definitely feel much better with proper veterinary care. If your furball is overdue for a visit, schedule an appointment with us today!

Toys!

Playing isn’t just fun for Fluffy: it’s also very good for her. Believe it or not, your kitty really is grateful for all the catnip mice she pushed under the sofa.

Clean Litterboxes

You can’t really blame Fluffy for preferring clean litterboxes. After all, no one likes a dirty bathroom! Scoop your kitty’s box out daily, and change the litter every week or so.

Cuddles

Cats are very cuddly and lovable. While some are more affectionate than others are, many of these little furballs would love to be petted and held 24/7. Even more aloof kitties often sleep with their humans, or follow them around!
